Augusta, GA - The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says a man shot his brother after the two were arguing over a woman.

Investigators say the argument happened at 2715 Princess Court just after 3:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The sheriff's office says it escalated outside, where one brother, Oscar Armando Mata, 34-years-old, shot his brother, Jose Mata, 21-years-old, in the chest.

Jose Mata was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators say Oscar Armando Mata ran away, but was later found in Columbia County.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife during a crime.

His bond has been set at $7,900.

The sheriff's office is still investigating the shooting.
