Woman shot to death outside Hillsborough County nightclub

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

A 49-year-old woman was shot to death early Sunday outside of a nightclub in the 8200 block of US Highway 301 in Tampa.

The victim has been identified as Maribel Sanchez-Garza.

The shooting happened just after 3 a.m. at Club 301. Sanchez-Garza was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report, the fatal shot came from a vehicle – possibly an SUV - passing by the club. No other suspect information is available at this time.

Detectives and crime scene technicians collected evidence and information from the parking lot of the nightclub for several hours. US 301 was  closed from Maislin Drive to Harney Road while investigators were on the scene.
