TREASURE ISLAND, FL (WFLA) - Detectives with the Treasure Island Police Department are on the lookout for an armed robbery suspect who struck early Sunday morning at the Walgreens location on Gulf Blvd.

The crime occurred just before 5 am.

According to a TIPD report the unidentified white male entered the store armed with a black handgun. He took an undisclosed amount of cash from a store clerk and fled. The report states there were three employees in the drug store at the time and fortunately none of them were injured.

The suspect may be driving a larger, fully-dressed motorcycle with saddlebags and driving lights on the front cowling of the bike.

Investigators say the man is between 25 and 35 years of age, stands between 6’ and 6’2’’ tall with a medium build. He weighs approximately 190 pounds and was last seen wearing a full-face black knit hat, two-tone black & white gloves and multi-colored tennis shoes.

One of the employees said the suspect spoke with a distinct ‘southern accent.’ He also has an unknown tattoo on his right bicep, visible at the sleeve cutoff. The report states the suspect may have left the area via the Treasure Island Causeway.
