A 52-year-old Augusta man has been arrested after a stabbing happened reportedly during a fight with another man.
Thursday afternoon at 4:01 p.m., Richmond County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to David's Barber Shop, located at 837 East Boundary, regarding a stabbing.
Upon arrival, deputies found 52-year-old Larry Williams suffering from a stab wound to the left side of his neck. According to information provided by Williams, he was standing on the 700 block of East Boundary arguing with 54-year-old Donald Bernard Hayes about a woman, and a fight ensued. During the fight, Williams said Hayes stabbed him in the neck. After being stabbed, Williams walked to David’s Barber Shop for help.
Williams was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center by Gold Cross EMS to receive treatment for what is being described by EMT's as non-life threatening stab wound to his neck.
Officers converged on the area of Hall Street, Hale Street, and East Boundary. Within a matter of minutes, deputies were able to take Hayes into custody without incident in the rear of a home on the unit block of Hale Street.
Hayes is being held and will be charged with Aggravated Assault.
