Augusta, GA -
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a man wanted on assault and weapon charges in a knife attack on one of James Brown's daughters.
The Sheriff’s Office currently holds felony arrest warrants for 42-year-old David Johnathan Walker, who is described as being a black male, 6'2" tall, weighing 160 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a shaved or bald head, no facial hair, and was last seen wearing a tan shirt and tan shorts. The arrest warrants are for 2 counts of Aggravated Assault and 2 counts of Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Crime.
On Friday, May 30th around 12:24 p.m., deputies responded to a reported stabbing at 232 Telfair Street in Old Towne. Upon arrival, Venisha Brown (daughter of James Brown), of Parkway Drive, told deputies she had been riding with an acquaintance known only as “David’ while attending to some errands. Brown had allegedly promised 'David' some money for gas and upon arrival on Telfair Street, had given David some cash. A dispute reportedly ensued over the amount, at which time David produced a small pocket knife and slashed at Brown several times while trying to obtain additional cash from her pockets. A nearby resident attempted to assist Brown, but was also menaced with the knife, but not injured.
Brown sustained cuts to both arms which, were not life threatening, and an additional amount of cash was taken. 'David' fled the scene in an older model Green Ford extended cab pickup truck with a possible SC tag and tinted windows. The vehicle was last seen driving west towards the downtown business district from Old Towne.
Anyone with information on Walker is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080.
