Autopsy results have been returned concerning the woman who was shot and killed by an Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputy Monday morning.

Autopsy revealed 52-year-old Deborah A. McCollum, of Andrews Circle, died from exsanguination due to a single gunshot wound. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton tells us, the manner of death is pending investigation by the Aiken County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Toxicology is pending.

South Carolina investigators are looking into a deadly shooting involving an Aiken County Sheriff's Deputy.

It happened around 10:19 a.m. Monday morning at a home at 2479 Andrews Circle.

Neighbors are just trying to come to grips with it.

Aiken County Sheriff's Deputies and state investigators move in on this quiet neighborhood after a deadly shooting Monday morning.

"We heard a gunshot. We didn't hear but just one gunshot," said Debbie Weber, who lives just a few doors down.

The Aiken County Sheriff's office says that gunshot came from one of their own.

Deputies were called out to 52-year-old Deborah McCollum's home on Andrews Circle, who they say was threatening to commit suicide.

Deputies say when they got there, McCollum confronted them at her front door with a gun

That's when the sheriff's office says Deputy Christopher Salley shot and killed the woman, .

Neighbors like Debbie Weber came by to see what's going on.

Weber said, "Ms. Debbie was like, we all like family on Andrews circle and everything and it's hitting close to home."

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says this is the fourth officer involved shooting in the state in the last three days and the second one in just a few hours on Monday.

Back on Andrews Circle, neighbors are trying to understand what happened.

Weber said, "just trying to absorb everything and trying to find out what really happened. You know?"

Deputy Salley is on administrative leave as the investigation continues.

A Autopsy on McCollum is scheduled for Tuesday in Newberry.

We now know the name of the deputy involved in Monday morning's shooting on Andrews Circle.

He is identified as Deputy Christopher Salley.

He is on administrative leave while the shooting investigation takes place by the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division.

We now know the identity of a woman killed in a deputy-involved shooting in Aiken County that happened Monday morning.

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton has identified the woman as 52-year-old Deborah A. McCollum, of Andrews Circle, in Aiken.

Carlton says McCollum was pronounced dead at her home after she placed a 911 call to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office requesting assistance.

At this time, the circumstances of her McCollum's death are under investigation by the Aiken County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Further details will be released they become available. Autopsy is scheduled in Newberry, South Carolina for Tuesday morning.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office has issued a statement regarding a Monday morning deadly shooting incident involving a deputy.

Sergeant Eric Abdullah tells us, around 10:19 a.m. Monday morning, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from 2479 Andrews Circle for a person who was threatening suicide.

When deputies arrived at the home, they were reportedly confronted by a person brandishing a gun at the front door. One of the initial responding deputies discharged his weapon at the person with the gun, striking them. The deputies rendered aid to the person until Aiken County EMS arrived on scene.

The person that was shot was pronounced dead at the scene by Aiken County EMS.

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division was contacted and responded to begin an investigation of the shooting incident, which is protocol for an officer-involved shooting. The deputies who responded to the initial call were not injured.

We are told the person that was shot has died. The deputy was not hurt in the shooting.

Testing will be done to determine if the shooting was justified.

The name of the person who was shot and killed has not been released, at this time.

This is the second officer-involved shooting Monday, with the other one happening in Greenville County Monday morning, and the 4th officer-involved shooting in the last 3 days in South Carolina, and the 20th in 2014.

We are learning new details concerning a Monday morning shooting in Aiken County.

We have been told that an Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputy was involved in the shooting.

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has taken over the investigation.

A witness says his female friend was the person who was shot.

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned there has been a shooting in Aiken County with one person being injured.

The shooting happened at 2479 Andrews Circle, off of Old Barnwell Road.
