WJBF's Mary Morrison emceed the Best of the Class 2014 Luncheon at GRU.
Augusta, GA -
Graduation ceremonies are winding down across the two state.
Friday night, McCormick County High School seniors will be awarded their diplomas.
And today, Thursday, Valedictorians from across the CSRA were honored at a special event emceed by WJBF's Mary Morrison.
Just a few hours ago, The Best of the Class Luncheon was held in the banquet hall of the Student Activities Center.
The luncheon is a chance to honor the Valedictorians. So many bright young men and women are graduating at the top of their class.
Earlier today, I had a chance to talk with some of the grads and their parents, like Edward Seufert.
"Sharon is the youngest of six children and she's really done her parents proud going out like this and we're thrilled for her."
Senior Sharon Seufert is happy, too!
"It's like all that hard work has paid off."
Mom Ruby Randolph made the drive from Taliaferro County.
"We're very excited and we're very honored. There are not enough words to express how grateful and happy we are."
James Randolph agrees:
"To me I'm very honored and I've worked very hard the last four years to receive this honor like my mother and I'm honored to be classified Valedictorian, just like she has."
Prior to the luncheon at the Amphitheatre, grads were celebrated once again as they were each recognized as segments were taped that will air later on WJBF so you'll want to be sure and watch for those.
