Richmond County Sheriff's Office deputies say they are still looking for Daniell Frank Simmons (aka "Donkey"), who is is wanted for the alleged murder of 22-year-old Curtis Carter. The shooting happened Wednesday on 2nd Avenue, in downtown Augusta.
Neighbors say they aren't surprised to hear of another shooting in their neighborhood. One resident even saw the murder take place. "When I looked out the window, I seen a car and the victim. They was arguing and I just heard gunshots and I saw the victim fall to the ground," Shanelle Johnson said.
Johnson, a close friend of the victim, says the loud arguing which led to gunshots woke her and her kids.
A makeshift memorial made of flowers and candles marked the spot where the shooting took place. A neighbor said friends and family of the victim gathered together last night to remember Carter.
Deputies believe the suspect is armed and dangerous. They advise anyone who sees Simmons to call law enforcement immediately.
