The man Richmond County Sheriff's Office investigators say killed a man and left his body in a Hephzibah field has been identified.

Altaye Levelle Knight, 21, of 1810 North Barton Drive has been arrested and charged with the murder of 27-year-old Damon Terrell Prymus, who lived at the same address as Knight.

Prymus' body was found in a field just off Wilson Road in Hephzibah and was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Prymus' body was sent to the GBI–Atlanta lab for an autopsy.

This is Richmond County's 9th homicide of 2014.

We now know the identity of a body found Wednesday evening in a field in Hephzibah.

The victim is identified as 27-year-old Damon Terrell Prymus, who lived on the 1800 block of North Barton Drive.

Prymus' body was found in a field just off Wilson Road in Hephzibah and was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Prymus' body was sent to the GBI–Atlanta lab for an autopsy. The homicide is under investigation by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned a body was found in a field in Hephzibah Wednesday evening.

A Richmond County Sheriff's Office spokesperson tell us, shortly before 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and Hephzibah Police Department responded to a body that had been found in a field off of Williams Drive in Hephzibah.

The investigation is in the early stages, but the body has been identified, but the identity is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

We are told the case is being investigated as a murder, but cause of death will be pending an autopsy by the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.

We will continue to follow this story and provide the latest information as it becomes available.
