Augusta, GA - According to the Augusta Chronicle...a mother and daughter were arrested Monday after public safety officers say they fought two T. W. Josey High School students on the school’s campus.

LaMonica Yvette Irving, 35, and Antonesha Rashae Dixon, 17, both of Augusta, have each been charged with disrupting public school, according to Richmond County jail records.

Dixon has been charged with two counts of simple battery and Irving faces a single charge. Additionally, Irving has been charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Earlier in the day, Dixon was involved in a physical altercation with two students aged 16 and 17, resulting in one student breaking her finger, said Lt. Mantrell Wilson, of the Richmond County School Safety and Security Department.

The students were subsequently suspended and released from school after being turned over to their parents.

One of the students was walking home with her 65-year-old grandfather when Irving and Dixon pulled up alongside them in a car driven by Irving’s boyfriend, Leonard Lee Cox. All three exited the vehicle and attacked the victims.

Irving, Dixon and Cox then approached the second student and attacked her as she walked home, Wilson said.

Irving and Dixon were apprehended. Police have obtained arrest warrants for Cox, who reportedly fled.
