Shaun Glass Will Allow Larry Campbell to Apologize

Posted: Updated:
Lincoln County, GA - Shaun Glass, the Lincoln County man who says former football coach, Larry Campbell, grabbed him and threatened his life at the Lincoln County BOE meeting Tuesday, May 13th, released the following statement this evening:

"I’ve tried my best to stay silent in all of this chaos for the sake of my community, my family, and for Larry and Connie Campbell and their family. It is unfortunate what took place that night at the LCBOE. I have watched many in the community take sides on things they did not see nor understand. I have seen individuals post things of hate amongst each other on either side. I have also seen our community divide itself based on like and unlike vs. right and wrong.
Those who were there that night know, and those who were not can only guess and gossip. The press release today does not accurately describe me and my actions that night. I will be contacting the Campbell family to allow Mr. Campbell to apologize as I know he deeply wants to do. This is a respectable family who deserves that right, just as my family deserves the right, not to be judged in the court of public opinion based on rumors and gossip.
My prayer is that this will bring peace amongst our community and allow individuals to rethink actions, comments, and words that have been stated throughout this ordeal. This community is passionate about its teachers and its children and when we disagree with decisions… yes sometimes we all get a little upset and want our voices to be heard. I pray that all parties involved will rethink their actions and go forward with a clean slate for the betterment of this school system and community."
