Jailhouse inmate testifies against Taylor

Posted: Updated:
NELSON COUNTY, VA - The Nelson County Commonwealth's Attorney Anthony Martin called an inmate from Albermarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

Wayne Buraker testified in court that he was in the cell next to Randy Taylor around August 17th. Buraker has 7 felony convictions including assault and battery and driving as a habitual offender.

Buraker claims Taylor told him that the first time he saw Alexis Murphy he wanted to have sex with her. Buraker says he asked if he would vacuum up the hair and he says Taylor said yes.

However, when defense Attorney Michael Hallahan questioned Buraker about whether he testified to be on TV, Buraker said he hadn't been given any incentive to testify and planned to get out of jail next month. Buraker said he watched Nancy Grace and if she asked he would do an interview with her.

Taylor's Attorney Michael Hallahan also made a motion to strike the abduction with intent to defile and first degree murder charges. However,  Nelson County Judge Michael Gamble denied the motions and said there was enough evidence to uphold the charges.
