Rare goblin shark find in Key West

Posted: Updated:
Key West, FL - A shrimper caught a rare goblin shark in the waters off Key West in April.

Carl Moore of Georgia was shocked when the strange looking shark fell out of his trawling net filled with shrimp.

Most people never get a chance to see a goblin shark. They live one to 3,000 feet under the water and feed on live squid and fish.

This is only the second member of his species ever caught in the Gulf of Mexico and the first since 2000, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
