Raleigh police release photos of robbers of sweepstakes parlor

RALEIGH, N.C. - Raleigh police released images of two suspects said to have shot a man at an Internet sweepstakes parlor in Raleigh Wednesday on Crabtree Boulevard.

Raleigh police said two suspects robbed the T-T Internet Sweepstakes Cafe at 2423 Crabtree Blvd. around 2 a.m. Police said one of them fired shots inside the cafe, although no one was hit.

After the robbery, the suspects encountered Christopher Tyrone McElroy, 48, who had fled the business during the crime. One of the suspects shot McElroy in the abdomen before continuing to flee, police said.

McElroy was taken to WakeMed, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Raleigh police described one suspect as a black male who stands between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall and weighs 180-190 pounds. Police said this suspect was wearing dark-colored pants, a white shirt and a tan hat.

The second man was described by police as a black male between 5 foot 8 inches and 5 foot 11 inches wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a “graffiti” print and jeans.
