Augusta, GA -
An Augusta business has come up with a creative way to raise money for charity during Masters week.
"Fix Blow Dry Bar", in Surrey Center, has been getting the signatures of golfers' wives on a lavender Masters hat. Once the tournament ends, the hat will be auctioned on EBay and all of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which raises money for research to end breast cancer.
The salon's owner, Adaire Pennington, says the idea came about after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer late last year. "I just felt like local businesses needed to do the most that they can and make the most out of this fantastic week that we have. The golfers' wives come in and get their hair fixed and I figured, why not take advantage of that," says Pennington.
EBay will match the donation from the auction. The hat will be available for signatures until Sunday afternoon. Golfers' wives still have time come by "Fix Blow Dry Bar" in Surrey Center to sign the hat.
