Cary PD need help finding 3 women accused of credit card fraud

CARY, N.C. - Cary police need help to identify three woman believed to be responsible for a series of vehicle break-ins and credit card fraud.

On March 19, Cary police responded to reports of two vehicle break-ins at 1413 Hampton Valley Road. Police said credit cards stolen from those vehicles were then used at Cary Towne Center Mall a few hours later.

Police describe the suspects as heavy-set African-American women between 20-40 years old. Two of the three suspects have short dark hair. Cameras at each crime scene captured footage of the suspects driving in a silver minivan.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cary police at (919) 469-4012 or Cary Crime Stoppers at (919) 460-4636.

Protecting Your Car

• Avoid leaving valuables in plain view, including loose change and cash.

• Always roll up the windows and lock the car.

• Immediately call 911 if confronted and provide a detailed description of the suspect.

• Remember to take quick actions in notifying police to help increase the chances of apprehending the suspect and preventing future incidents.

Protecting Your Credit

• Sign your cards as soon as they arrive.

• Keep a record of your account numbers, expiration dates, and the phone number and address of each company in a secure place.

• Report any questionable charges promptly to the card issuer.

• Do not leave cards or receipts lying around.

• If you realize a credit card has been been stolen, immediately call the issuer(s).
