A Darlington County woman has been charged after 3 of her dogs attacked two women in separate incidents in the last few days – with one elderly woman still in ICU a week later, Darlington County Sheriff's Office deputies say.
Patsy Jackson, age 48, of Possum Bay Road, near Hartsville, had 3 dogs –- 2 of which were pit bull mix and another which was an unknown mix -– that were allowed to roam free, said Darlington County Sheriff's Office Investigator Chad McInville.
The pit bull mix dogs have since been killed by deputies, but the other dog is still on the run and being sought by authorities, McInville said.
The first attack happened on March 31 on Possum Bay Road in the Kellytown area of Darlington County, near Hartsville, McInville said.
In that attack a 62-year-old woman was injured.
Just a day later, an 82-year-old woman was seriously injured in an attack by the three dogs in the Quail Point area. As of Tuesday, she was still in ICU, McInville said.
Jackson is charged with 6 counts of possession of dangerous animals and is held on $7500 bond.
