Michael Ajakwe and Karlton T. Clay at the 2014 L.A. Web Fest
Los Angeles, CA -
"Make Your Own Luck" - that was the theme of the 2014 L.A. Web Fest. Vanessa Verduga and Christopher Limon are two of the hundreds of creators that were chosen to be apart of this year's festival.
Verduga is the creator, producer, and star of "Justice Woman", and Limon is the creator and star of "Happy Humans."
Michael Ajawke is the founder of the L.A. Web Fest, and this year's festival was a 5-day festival, making it bigger than any other festival in the past. This was an opportunity for film makers and web show creators to come together to have their works on display for hundreds to see.
People from all around the world attended this year's web festival including those from Augusta, GA. Shatareia Stokes, of Augusta, GA, says that festivals like the L.A. Web Fest are very important because it is a great opportunity to see people who are making their own content and making their own way.
Verduga adds, "There is an audience for all of us (independent film makers and web show content creators). One of the great things is that keeping these festivals independent is a way to keep our humanity going."
"The Lyons Den" is produced in Augusta, GA. It won 3 awards at this year's festival: Outstanding Guest Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actress, and Outstanding Lead Actress. You can watch the award winning web series at www.youtube.com/thelyonsdenseries.
