Columbia, SC -
Snow and ice storms were the big story of this past winter, and now, we're getting close to hurricane season.
The South Carolina Lieutenant Governor's Office on Aging wants to make sure senior citizens are prepared in any circumstance.
A new initiative was launched Tuesday, called Planning and Resources for Emergency Preparedness, or PREP.
At the launch event, organizers passed out emergency preparedness kits and informational packets.
You can make your own emergency preparedness kit for your family or your loved ones. Just make sure there's a whistle, an LED flashlight, roadmap, first aid supplies, playing cards, and water. You should also make sure there is non-perishable food in there, too.
