PINELLAS PARK, FL (WFLA) - The Pinellas Park Police Department is looking for three teens involved in an attack on an 83-year-old man in the 5000 block of 76th Avenue.

The victim, Charles Clark, was just returning from a trip to the drug store this morning about 9:55 a.m. Tuesday. He parked his car right outside the Park Plaza Condominiums' elevator.

"I got out of the car and the guy grabbed me around my back and I saw he had a knife in his hand. He stabbed me three times and I hit him as hard as I could," said Clark.

As Clark struggled to break free he knocked his attacker to the ground.

Police said the attacker was an older teenaged boy, and he had a boy and and girl, aged 12-14, with him.

During the struggle, Clark yelled out and neighbor Mark Lindsey heard the commotion from inside his third floor condominium.

"I looked out the window, saw a guy being punched. I opened the door and yelled to the kid and he ended up running off," said Lindsey.

Police say the suspects then fled the scene on bicycles.

The knife involved in the attack was recovered at the scene.

Police are unclear what the motive would be, however Clark believes the suspects were trying to steal his car, as they did not demand anything while they fought him.

Clark has now returned home after being treated at an area hospital.

A lock down that was in place at two area schools, Richard L. Sanders School and Pinellas Park Elementary, during the incident and has now been lifted. The lock down was lifted after police say they searched the area and confirmed the suspects were not nearby.

Officers are looking for three suspects they say were involved.
