NEW PORT RICHEY, FL (WFLA) - Pasco County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a beating that left two people in critical condition.

Detectives have arrested 23-year-old Antonio Bandoma and they say he will be charged with two counts of attempted murder.

The assault happened in the street near 4811 Drift Tide Dr., which is off U.S. 19 in New Port Richey.

Deputies say the assault left 34-year-old Melba Chapin and 19-year-old Dustin Larose in critical condition.

Investigators are not saying what led to the attack but do say that Bandoma and the victims all knew each other.

Several people witnessed the beating, according to the PCSO.
