HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - If you have cavities and no dental coverage, no problem. Volunteer dentists are offering free treatments at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

The Florida Dental Association is hosting its first Mission of Mercy event Friday and Saturday.

The doors open each day at 6 a.m. at the Special Events Pavilion of the Florida State Fairgrounds at 4800 Highway 301 North in Tampa.

Cars were backed up on Martin Luther King Blvd. early Friday morning before the Fairground gates opened around 4:30 a.m.

About 350 dentists and more than 1,000 support volunteers will be on hand. They hope to treat about 800 patients each day on a first come, first serve basis. Free services include cleanings, fillings, and extractions.
