Detour Announced For Sewer Line Repair On Chesterfield Street In Aiken

A detour has been announced for part of Chesterfield Street in Aiken for sewer line repair starting Saturday night.
The City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department will be repairing a sewer line on Chesterfield Street at Park Avenue this Saturday night starting at 10:30 p.m.
Officials say, this job may take until Sunday afternoon to complete.
All northbound traffic will be detoured onto South Boundary Avenue at Whiskey Road to use Laurens Street or York Street to continue north. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Park Avenue and Chesterfield Street and drivers will need to use Laurens Street or York Street to travel south.
Alternate routes to avoid this work zone are Powderhouse Road, Banks Mill Road, and utilizing the Highway 118 By-Pass/Hitchcock Parkway south.
