Augusta, GA -
The Golden Harvest Food Bank is getting to know the agencies it serves.
The Food Bank held a "Meat and Greet" on Wednesday .
The organization gave each agency it serves several pallets of frozen meat to give it out to those who need it.
The greet part was for those agencies to know the Golden Harvest Food Bank is there whenever needed.
"It's so important, especially with our mission. Our mission is to feed lives together and one way that we do that is to support our agencies that we service because without them, food would not get to individual people," said Mariam Baxter, Director of External Relations for the Golden Harvest Food Bank.
48,000 pounds of meat were distributed between 18 counties.
