Columbia, SC -
A Greenville, South Carolina state lawmaker says she's pulling a bill adding restrictions to bicycle and moped riders.
State Representative Wendy Nanney proposed making owners get a permit and insurance. She called the bill a fix to a dangerous traffic problem.
Instead, she says it's started the conversation about how to make bikes safer on the road. "Now I've got some attention. I've gotten several biking groups now that are willing to come to the table, bring groups to the meeting and now we can discuss it further," she says.
State Rep. Nanney plans to hold town hall meetings in Greenville to continue addressing this issue.
