Aiken Department of Public Safety investigators have filed more charges against an Aiken murder suspect.

Jerome Sullivan, 31, of North Augusta has been charged with Burglary First Degree, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number.

A North Augusta man has been arrested and charged in a deadly weekend shooting in Aiken.

Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) investigators arrested 31-year-old Jerome Sullivan (31) of North Augusta and charged him with Murder.

ADPS officers responded to a shooting call at 125 Bennington Lane at 1:22 a.m. Sunday morning.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the victim, 30-year-old Tamar Stewart, inside the residence with a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sullivan was located a few minutes after the incident, and stopped in his vehicle by patrol officers. He was taken into custody without further incident.

This shooting is being investigated by ADPS, with assistance from South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), Aiken County Solicitor's Office, and Aiken County Coroner's Office.
