Edgefield County School Bus Involved in Friday Morning Crash

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned new information concerning a Friday morning crash in Edgefield County involving a school bus.

We have learned the bus driver has been found to be at fault. He has been charged with Disregarding a Stop Sign.

Around 6:40 a.m. Friday morning, an Edgefield County school bus was involved in a crash at the intersection of Jacob McKie Road and U.S. Highway 25.

Stephanie Williams, with the Edgefield County School District, tells us approximately 25 elementary school students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Williams says 7 students were transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center as a precaution. As of 10:45 a.m., all students have been released from the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident at this time.
