The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday morning in Warrenville on Pine Street.
Around 7:19 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a shooting that occurred at 548 Pine Street where initial responding deputies found a white female in the front yard suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Georgia Regents University by Aiken County EMS for emergency treatment where she was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses told the initial responding deputies that the suspect, 46-year-old Todd Brown of Warrenville, kicked in the front door where he got into a verbal and physical fight with the victim, who is said to be his his ex-girlfriend, that later ended outside the home.
A witness reported that they heard shots being fired.
Brown reportedly fled the area prior to deputies arriving on scene.
Investigators have arrested Brown and will be charging him with Murder, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Burglary 1st Degree. Brown was transported to the Aiken County Detention Center.
Investigators say this investigation is still ongoing.
