"I wanna sit there in the sand
Watch those golden tans go walking by
I know it isn't fair, cause you might really care
But it's different now cause summertime's calling me!"
Can't you just hear the infectious chorus of Summertime's Calling Me?
If listening to beach music takes you back to days gone by, and a dance craze called The Shag, then you might want to take advantage of a great opportunity for your kids to learn how to dance the Shag- for free!
Johnny Hensley, of Johnny Hensley's Shag City: The Television Show is helping organize a Junior Shag Association in Augusta.
As part of the CSRA Shag Club, he's offering free lessons to kids ages 10-17 every Sunday in March. Primary instructors are Johnny & Judy Turner.
Parents can get in on the free dance lessons, too, since they'll be driving the teens there!
It's all happening in the Estes Room at the Augusta Marriott and Convention Center at 10th and Broad Streets on Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm. Casual but appropriate dress.
