RALEIGH, N.C. -

A Raleigh boy, who has undergone dozens of surgeries for a rare genetic disorder, has something to smile about.  Three-year-old Jack Jack Levesque just completed his 43rd surgery for an undiagnosed genetic disorder that leaves him tethered to an oxygen tank 24 hours a day.

Jack Jack's brother Kaden also suffers from Epilepsy, a lung disorder, and other inherited disorders.  Their sister, Jewel, suffers from similar inherited disorders as well as cervical instability.

A local nonprofit group called Special Spaces of the Triangle gave the bedroom Jack Jack and Kaden share a superhero makeover, complete with Batman and Superman beds, wall and window treatments.  Jewel's room was also transformed into a pink paradise with a butterfly theme.

Parents Greg and Jessica Levesque say Jack Jack's optimism, undergoing all those surgeries, keeps them strong.

"He truly finds joy in everything. I mean, after the last surgery he had, he was smiling again," Jessica Levesque said.  "He doesn't let anything stop him.  He just keeps smiling, so if he can keep smiling, then we can keep smiling."

"Right, it's a really big inspiration just to see how strong he is," Greg Levesque said.

The Levesque's say, while Medicaid helps pay for their medical bills, food and travel bills for specialty doctor visits in New York add up.  They've set up a Facebook page for Jack Jack.

Special Spaces of the Triangle does makeovers like these for kids facing severe disorders.  They rely completely on donations and volunteers.  You can find more information here.
