RALEIGH, N.C. -
WNCN raised $1,050 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle during February through the 3-Degree Guarantee.
The WNCN Weather Team had to predict the high temperature within three degrees everyday during the month. Each time a meteorologist was within that zone, WNCN would donated $50 to the Big Brothers big Sisters of the Triangle.
"It's just like having a best friend," said little brother Preysce Baez. "You guys get to hang out and talk about whatever. They can share their experiences and you can learn from them."
The total cost associated with creating a successful match is $1,400. Baez had to wait nearly two years to get matched.
But time and money aren't the only things Big Brothers big Sisters of the Triangle needs.
The group said it needs volunteers to step up and make a difference in the lives of Triangle youths.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle serves about 1000 kids per year and has around 200 boys on its waiting list.
