Last month's ice storm made the ( F.A.T.S.) Forks Area Trail System in Edgefield County impassable.
Today, thirty volunteers worked to change that.
Blocked paths, uprooted trees and holes in the ground.
None of these things are good for hiking or biking.
But U-S forest certified sawyers are using chainsaws to open the trail up again.
Dave Kozlowski, President of S.O.R.B.A. CSRA says, "The goal today hopefully is to knock out and clear all the trails here in FATS, all thirty-seven miles. So we've had since last week and all this week volunteers out."
Kozlowski says that when southeastern trails get wet and people ride them they get damaged. He encourages people to wait until the trails dry out to ride again.
