South Carolina environmental officials are scheduled to meet to discuss sampling that's been done on Langley Pond.
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is holding a public meeting on Thursday at at Aiken Technical College in Graniteville.
DHEC says its officials have done environmental assessment to determine the extent of contamination that was caused by pollution along Horse Creek decades ago.
Officials say their data has shown that the water in Langley Pond remains safe for recreational use but the existing fish consumption advisory for the pond remains in effect
The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. in Aiken Technical College's Amphitheater, which is located in building 700.
