The ice storm that knocked out power across the CSRA is also preventing people from giving blood.
The Shepeard Community Blood Mobiles are out all across the Two-State.
Volunteers are collecting blood inside the truck, and their goal is to get over 400 units this weekend.
Kevin Belanger, CEO of Shepeard Community Blood Center, says, "Across the country, all blood centers are having a shortage just because of the weather, but also because of air flights. We can't support blood going out or coming in so we have to rely on our local community to support our hospitals."
The Shepeard Community Blood Center supports blood for 20 hospitals in the CSRA. You can give blood Sunday at the Augusta Mall next to P.F. Chang's, Walmart in North Augusta, or Papa John's Pizza at Milledgeville Road.
