Non-School Closings in the CSRA and Other Storm-Related Information

Augusta, GA - The continuing issues from the winter storm are causing more delays and closings in the CSRA. Below we have a list of all non-school closings including government offices, businesses, daycares, medical facilities, churches and more.

We will be continuing to update this list.


GOVERNMENT CLOSINGS AND DELAYS
  • Aiken County non-essential government facilities will be closed Friday.
  • Augusta Recreation and Parks Dept. and Facilities: All programs, rentals, and other services are canceled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • City of North Augusta business offices will be closed on Friday.
  • Columbia County government offices are closed until Monday.
  • Fort Gordon will resume normal operations on Friday in stages. All personnel for the U.S. Army Garrison and the Logistics Readiness Center will report to resume normal operations at 11:00 a.m. All other Fort Gordon commands and agencies will report at 1:00 p.m. Anyone who is unsure of their report time should check with their supervisor. The military training holiday that was scheduled for Friday will be observed. In addition, supervisors are encouraged to approve leave liberally for military personnel or employees who are dealing with hardships related to the winter storm.
  • Jefferson County: Non-essential offices and services will be closed Friday. Normal office hours will resume Monday.
  • North Augusta Municipal Court for Friday has been canceled. Rescheduled dates will be notified by mail.
  • Richmond County offices will be closed Friday. Transit is expected to operate on regular schedule Friday. Trash pickup will be "best efforts," the landfill will be open Friday. Any customers not collected on Wednesday and Thursday will be collected the following week, with extra trash collected on those days. Augusta 311 will be open for non-emergency calls Friday. There is no update on when those without power will have their power restored. Berckmans road is still closed (as of 5:00 p.m. Thursday) due to down power lines.   • Augusta Recreation and Parks Dept and Facilities: All programs, rentals and other services are cancelled for 2/14,15,16
  • Jefferson County - non-essential offices and services will be closed Thursday with plans of having normal operating hours on Friday.
  • Savannah River Site (SRS) will be closed Friday for non essential workers. All oncoming Shift (Nights) essential personnel are to report to work 2 hours early on Thursday. Essential personnel shift turnovers on Friday morning will be delayed 2 hours. Currently, the following barricades are open: Jackson (1), Aiken (2), Barnwell (4), and A Area (9). Due to road conditions, posted speed limits on site will be 35 mph. All employees should monitor srs.gov, 725-SITE(7483) and local news channels for work schedule updates.
  • Social Security Administration closed Friday.

BUSINESS CLOSINGS AND DELAYS

  • ATA Martial Arts is closed on Thursday.
  • Augusta Mall will open at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Department store, restaurant, and small shop hours may vary. Please call specific stores you're planning on visiting prior to traveling to the mall.
  • Augusta Metro Federal Credit Union will open on Thursday at noon.
  • Augusta VAH Federal Credit Union will be closed on Thursday.
  • Carlisle Transportation Products will be shut down Thursday and will resume normal operations on Friday.
  • Coyotes Nightclub will be closed Thursday.
  • Crane Merchandising Systems in Williston - All office and 1st shift personnel will report at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
  • Dart Container will be closed Thursday.
  • DCCM Food Pantry will be closed Friday.
  • Easter Seals East Georgia opened Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
  • Electrolux's Customer Engagement Center opened Thursday at noon. Employees are instructed to call the attendance line for updates.
  • Eye Physicians and Surgeons of Augusta and Eye Surgery Center of Augusta opened at noon on Thursday.
  • Georgia Institute of Cosmetology's Augusta and Martinez campuses will be closed all day Thursday.
  • Georgia Bank and Trust will reopen at noon Friday.
  • Golden Harvest Food Bank will be closed Friday.
  • Goodwill operations reopened at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. All Helms and School of Health operations opened at noon.
  • Kellogg's Augusta Bakery will restart production on 2nd shift Friday.
  • Kimberly Clark's Beech Island facility workers are off Thursday and are to report for work at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Employees are being told to call 803-827-6116 after for updates.
  • Newberry Opera House in South Carolina has rescheduled their performance with the National Dance Company of Siberia for Monday February 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the Opera House.
  • Roadrunner Cafe closed all locations in Augusta for Thursday.
  • Savannah River Site will be closed Thursday for non-essential workers. No shift turnovers will be completed on Thursday morning. The next expected shift turnover will be on Thursday night. All employees should monitor srs.gov, 725-SITE(7483) and local news channels for work schedule updates.
  • Sno-Cap in North Augusta is open Thursday night and Friday
  • Southern Bank and Trust will be closed Thursday.
  • State Farm - Hoke Brantley's office will be closed all day Thursday. For claim filing or assistance please call 706-733-6744 and you will be connected to 24/7 National Help Desk.

PRESCHOOL/DAYCARE CLOSINGS AND DELAYS

  • A Child's World (all 5 locations) will be closed Friday.
  • A World of Hope in Grovetown will be open Friday.
  • Cozy Learning Center is closed Friday.
  • Cozy West Learning Center is closed Friday
  • Goshen Learning Center
  • Midland Valley Christian Academy and Daycare will be closed Friday
  • The following Sunshine Houses will be closed Friday: Augusta, Evans, North Augusta, Aiken Summer Wood Way, Aiken Fabian Drive
  • Sunshine House Aiken S. Centennial opens at 9:00 a.m. Friday.
  • Wisdom World Care & Learning Center is closed Friday.

COMMUNITY CENTER/SERVICE CLOSINGS AND DELAYS

  • Columbia County STAR Student Program at Harlem Women's Club scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to Thursday, February 20th.
  • Family Y locations will remain closed on Thursday.
  • Masters Table Soup Kitchens will open at noon on Friday.
  • Richmond County School's The Beginner Orchestra Rehearsal canceled for Thursday.
  • Symphony Orchestra Augusta's concert with Melissa Manchester on Thursday has been canceled.

CHURCH CLOSINGS AND DELAYS

  • ACTS of Aiken will be closed Thursday.
  • Everfaithful Baptist Church in Augusta will be closed Thursday.
  • First Baptist Church of Keysville will be canceling services, meetings, and rehearsals for Thursday.
  • Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta will not have services Thursday night
  • Vincent Village Bible study is canceled for Thursday.

DOCTOR'S OFFICE/MEDICAL FACILITY CLOSINGS AND DELAYS

  • Aiken Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Services will be closed Thursday. 
  • Aiken Neurosciences and the Pain Center at Aiken Neurosciences will be closed Thursday.
  • Aiken Surgical Associates patients are asked to call the office on Thursday before coming to their appointment.
  • Augusta Oncology Associates offices opened on Thursday at noon. This closure will affect both offices (Wheeler Road and University Hospital).
  • Aiken OB/GYN will be closed on Friday.
  • Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (all outpatient clinics to include clinics in Athens, Aiken and Statesboro) opened at noon Thursday.
  • Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center- All scheduled surgeries and appointments are canceled and all clinics are closed Thursday and will reopen on Friday. DDEAMC will maintain all essential emergency services, inpatient care, emergency surgeries during this time. All key and essential personnel and supervisor designated mission essential employees must report to their scheduled shifts. All non-essential DDEAMC employees will return to work for their scheduled shift on Friday.
  • Eye Physicians and Surgeons (The Eye Guys) is closed Thursday.
  • Eye Surgery Center of Augusta is closed Thursday.
  • Georgia Regents Medical Center Outpatient clinics reopened at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Patients should call the clinic after 1:00 p.m. Thursday to reschedule missed appointments.  
  • McDuffie Dialysis in Thompson will be closed on Thursday.
  • Nephrology Centers of South Augusta will be closed on Thursday.
  • Richmond County Health Departments will be closed Friday and will re-open Monday at 8:00 a.m.
  • Surgery Center of Aiken will be closed Friday.
  • Wylds Road Dialysis will open at noon on Thursday.
