Serena's Bright Light Is Honoring Other Deserving Animals

This week we were unable to share with you the remarkablestory of Serena and her owner, Steve Briggs, but both will be joining us forour show next Sunday – February 16.

Many people in the CSRA know Serena's story. She is a dogthat was saved from death's door and in turn has been able to give comfort tochallenged children, wounded veterans, and shattered souls. This year the SPCAAlbrecht Center, in partnership with Serena's owner, will recognize other petsthat are making great contributions in the CSRA, and one of those incrediblepets will be named Serena's Star 2014. That award will include a $500 prizefrom Steve and Doris Briggs.

All species and breeds that make their permanent residencein the CSRA qualify for entry. Nominations are now open and must be postmarkedby March 1. Rules and additional information can be found on the SPCA Albrecht Center website. You canalso download a nomination form here.
