The city of Augusta is ready to take on old man winter.
The city has three sand trucks and three salt trucks on ready in the snow and ice piles up on city streets
Traffic engineers say the priority will be the main streets and problems areas as they arise.
"We're going to try and focus our resources if we got a major issue somewhere else we'll deal with that to we rely on the Sheriff's Department we have our on call people our trucks are lined up and typically they happen in the same areas so we've been dealing with the same areas for years so they know where they need to go," says Traffic Engineer Steve Cassell.
Barricades are also on stand by incase the winter weather shuts down roadways.
This was the case three years ago when the Calhoun Expressway was shut down for a couple of days due to snow and icy conditions.
