It's an antique store, in Aiken County but also a place for giants. "We have lots and lots of antiques, including toys," says April Powell.
And, some toys that have reached the top of the game...toys enshrined in the National Toy Hall of Fame (NTHofF).
"Did you know there was such a place?" we asked. "I was not aware of that until now," said Warren Brown, with a laugh.
This week, former Atlanta Braves players Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux were named to the Professional Baseball Hall of Fame, and next month, Thomson native Ray Guy could be inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame, joining the play things in the Toy Hall of Fame.
This year, Chess and the Rubber Ducky were welcomed to the Toy Hall of Fame. More than 50 other toys having been inducted since 1998.
This toy literally jumped into the Hall of Fame...Checkers, and how could it not...Checkers always came up big.
The Teddy Bear is in the Toy Hall of Fame, so is the Rocking Horse and the Jigsaw Puzzle...and of course, the Baby Doll.
And, there was a big hand when Playing Cards were inducted, we love the greats of the games.
"I had sisters, they played with the Easy Bake Oven," said Brown. The Easy Bake Oven that heated up over its career is in the NTHofF.
Monopoly and the Game of Life are both in the Toy Hall of Fam, but surprisingly not Battleship. Come on, it's a hit!!
Also failing to get enough vote for the Toy Hall are pedal cars and the tricycle, and despite tremendous numbers, the Cabbage Patch Kids have not entered the Hall.
"Was there steroid use in the Cabbage Patch Doll?" we asked. "It's hard to tell they did have the puffy cheeks," said Powell.
So, the next time you're browsing in the old store, stop. You may be among the kings and queens of toy land...Hall of famers...who are aces...
