A brief power outage in the town of Jackson, SC affected Jackson Middle School this morning.
Power went out just before 9:30 this morning, shortly before students were scheduled to arrive for classes.
Then, the principal notified parents and the board of education of the outage.
The power was out for about an hour and a half and the kids were never in danger according to the principal.
Jason Holt, Principal at Jackson Middle School in Jackson, SC says, "Everybody here at the building is secured. Make sure all of the students are safe because that's our number one priority and then we notify the parents after making sure that we have a good handle on everything here at the school."
Holt says any student that didn't come into Jackson Middle School for class today due to the temporary blackout will be excused.
