We have learned that Elizabeth Staten was taken into custody by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office on Monday.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has secured warrants for the arrest of Elizabeth Staten on battery charges.  They suspect Staten of stabbing her boyfriend in the chest, arm, and back early Saturday morning.

Investigators also say that there are four felony arrest warrants already out on Staten; those are for unrelated incidents involving Financial Transaction Card Fraud.

Richmond County Law Enforcement is searching for a woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend Saturday morning.  Richmond County Sheriff's Office's Sergeant Shane McDaniel says, deputies are actively looking for 24-year-old Elizabeth A. Staten.

Staten is accused of stabbing her live in boyfriend, Robert McBride, in the chest, arm and back after the two got into a argument around 6:30 am Saturday morning.  McBride is currently in a local hospital where he is listed in serious condition.  According to deputies, Staten fled the scene before law enforcement's arrival and is currently being sought by authorities.

Elizabeth A. Staten is wanted for battery in connection to family violence. Richmond County deputies have also learned there are four outstanding felony arrest warrants for Staten on an unrelated incident that is connection with alleged Financial Transaction Card Fraud.  Staten is described as a 24 year old, black female, 5'04, weighing about 225 lbs.  If you have any information on the whereabouts of Staten please call 9-1-1 or the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080.  Stay tuned to News Channel 6 and wjbf.com for the latest updates on this developing story.
