A Columbus police sergeant is recovering after she was dragged by a car while trying to stop a suspect.
Police say that Sgt. Dawn Tuning was working at Columbus Park Crossing when she confronted two suspects for shoplifting at Kohl's.
She tried to arrest the man and the woman, when the man pushed her down and escaped. Tuning then tried to arrest the woman who fled to her car. The sergeant then had to use a taser on the woman after the woman kept pushing her.
Police say the woman then sped away, dragging Tuning 15 feet before she was forced to let go. Tuning suffered injuries to both of her hands as well as her elbow and knee.
About $140 in jewelry was reported stolen by Kohl's. Anyone with information on the case should call police at 706-653-3400.
