Aiken County, SC -

Update:

The two victims killed by an Aiken County house fire have been identified as 82-year-old Mary Childs and her 3-year-old granddaughter Arbrielle Douse.

We now know that the fire started shortly after midnight.  Autopsies show both victims died from carbon monoxide poisoning and burns.

Aiken County authorities say an 8-year-old accidentally set a home on fire while playing with matches.

After receiving a 911 call about a fire with people trapped inside, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to a fire early Saturday morning at 644 Pinecrest Avenue.

Responders found an 8-year-old child outside the home; ADPS officers later discovered two victims inside after the fire was extinguished.

The Sheriff's Office and SLED have ruled the fire to be accidental:  They say it started when the 8-year-old was playing with matches.

There will be no charges filed.
