For the second time this week, a former Augusta political leader walks out of federal prison.
Former Georgia State Representative Robin Williams was released from the prison in Estill, South Carolina Thursday morning.
Williams was convicted in 2005 of stealing more than $2 million dollars from the Community Mental Health Center of East Central Georgia.
He has been serving a 10-year sentence for conspiracy, money laundering, fraud, and bribery. He will now finish out that sentence at an unnamed transitional facility.
Earlier this week, former Georgia Senate Majority Leader Charles Walker was also released from federal prison in Estill where he has been serving a 10-year sentence. He will also finish his sentence at transitional facility.
