Former Georgia State Senator Charles Walker is out of prison.
Walker was released Tuesdays morning from the federal prison in Estill, South Carolina, but he is still serving time.
Walker was convicted in 2006 of mail fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy charges, and he was sentenced in 2006 to 8-10 years on those charges.
We have learned he is in a transitional facility and, for security reasons, that information is not being released at this time.
Earlier Tuesday morning, our Kimberely Scott spoke to Walker by telephone.
He says he wants to sit down for an interview to talk about what he's been through and what he's doing next.
As soon as we are able to sit down with Walker, we will and we'll bring it to you on WJBF News Channel 6.
