UPDATED ON 6: New Information Released In Richmond County Stabbing Case

New information has been released in the investigation into a Richmond County stabbing incident.

Richmond County Sheriff's Office investigators tell us, further investigation has revealed that the alleged victim was not a robbery victim, and that he actually knew the stabbing suspect.

Investigators tell us, after speaking to the victim, he became uncooperative and refused to cooperate with investigators.

We are told the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a stabbing suspect.

Investigators say, Wednesday night around 10:55 p.m., deputies answered a call to Ramblewood Apartments, located on Blake Drive, regarding a stabbing.

When deputies arrived, they made contact with a 23-year-old man who told them he had just returned to his apartment and upon entering his apartment, he heard a noise coming from the rear of his apartment.

The victim told deputies he attempted to investigate the noisem when a white man came running at him while holding a knife. The man was described as being 5'10" tall, weighing 170 pounds, wearing all black clothing, with a bar code tattoo on his neck.

The victim said the man stabbed him in the lower abdomen while running out of the apartment. The suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to the Georgia Regents Medical Center Emergency Room for medical treatment with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
