Columbia, SC (WJBF) -- Silver Bluff and Batesburg-Leesville met in the 1986 and 2001 state championship games. The Bulldogs won both of those games, but they were both extremely close with Silver Bluff winning by 1 point each time. Friday night's title game was yet another thriller. Unfortunately, this time the Bulldogs came up just short.

Silver Bluff falls to Batesburg-Leesville 28-24 in the SCHSL 2-A, D2 title game at Benedict College in Columbia. The Bulldogs had a chance to win it late. They drove the ball deep into Batesburg-Leesville territory. But on their final play from the Panthers 13 with :01 left, but Jaylen Lawrence's pass was intercepted to end the game.

WJBF Sports' Tom Wylie was in Columbia, and he will have a full recap tonight on WJBF at 11. We will also have the highlights and reaction here on

We will also have highlights of Aquinas and WACO at 11.
