***UPDATED at 2:13 P.M. on Thursday, December 26th***

The reward for information on the whereabouts of a Millen business owner has increased from $5,000 to $10,000.

L.C. Burroughs is believed to have been abducted from his scrap metal yard at the end of September.

If you have any information regarding Burroughs' disappearance please contact the Jenkins County Sheriff's Office or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

***POSTED at 6:20 P.M. on Friday, December 6th***

Janet Greene, Burroughs's Oldest Daughter says "we have talked to the GBI as of today and we have not received anything official."

Like her father trusted in his truck, Janet Greene says she's trusting in God and local law enforcement to bring her father back safe and sound. But even though Greene hasn't heard from her father in more than two months, rumors are flying across Jenkins County.

"That he's dead, that we've buried him. We have not. They found his body in the river. They have said all kind of unkind things," Greene shares as some of the rumors.

Things that Greene and her cousin Kimberly Barker say have made a dent on their family.

Kimberly Barker, Burroughs's niece explains "we've been broken hearted. His birthday has passed. Thanksgiving has passed. We see other people, here locally and abroad, celebrating their loved ones and our uncle is gone."

Both women say they're hoping to bypass the rumors to find someone who can give a solid tip to point investigators in the right direction.

"Someone knows what's going on. Someone knows what happened. Someone knows where he is," Barker adds.

A $5,000 reward has been issued for anyone with information about the disappearance of L.C. Burroughs. It is a small token the family says to bring back the man who's brought so much more to their lives.

Greene says "we love you. We appreciate all that you have done and sacrificed for us."

I did reach out to the Jenkins County Sheriff's Office for more information about the investigation. They did not respond to my requests. If you know the whereabouts of Mr. Burroughs, please contact the Jenkins County Sheriff's Office at (478) 982-1570 or the GBI at 912-871-1121.
