It might be Christmas time, but one Augusta Commissioner does not have glad tidings about city policy.
Commissioner Marion Williams wants to discuss the Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual, and actions taken by the city's Human Resources Department.
Williams says, under the manual, employees are not being treated fairly and he's saying bah humbug.
“H.R. does not have a paper trail on the people they done fired. There's several people who have been fired, there's people in the Water Department who were given raises and the folks on probation were not given raises. I’m sick and tired of that. In fact, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, but somebody is going to answer before Santa Claus comes,” says Williams.
The Policy Manual has been a sore point for city leaders before. Commissioners approved it two years ago on a vote along racial lines. Williams was not on the Commission at that time.
Commissioners are scheduled to discuss the issue Monday.
