Caught on Tape: Ohio DUI driver rams police cruiser, leads officers on chase

Posted: Updated:
BEXLEY, OH - A Bexley Police Officer, working DUI Patrol, says he spotted a white Nissan Murano blowing through a red light.

The officer said he attempted to stop the driver, 25-year-old Sally Kurgis, but she refused.

She eventually pulled into a driveway on South Cassady Avenue. With the music blasting, Kurgis laid on the horn and showed no sign of getting out of the car.

The driver beeps her horn, reverses and hits Bexley cruiser.

Kurgis continued to lay on the horn as officers tried to get her out of the car.

The cruiser's camera captures Kurgis ramming the cruiser two more times before she sped up, drove through the backyard and out an alley.

The chase continued as, police say, Kurgis avoided spike strips. Then Columbus Police were called on to assist.

Police say after Kurgis jumped the curb it all ended right here in a grass field. Damage is still evident on the police cruiser that now remains parked at the station.

Kurgis is now facing several charges, among them felonious assault, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
