The Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies are looking for a suspect in a shooting that happened a few miutes before midnight Sunday night.
The shooting happened on the 1000 block of Tolbert Drive, in Harlem.
The shooting victim told deputies he was at his residence when an unknown black male attempted to force his way through the door.
The victim said he stopped the door with his foot then saw the suspect holding a handgun. He said, as he was turning, the suspect shot him in the right forearm and left in a white Ford Expedition.
The victim was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center by EMS.
Three women who were at the home at the time of the shooting say they never saw or heard anything until the victim came in holding his right arm and said he had been shot. Another man, who said he was not at the home at the time of the incident, had showed up by the time deputies arrived on the scene.
Investigators say, the witnesses waited about 15 minutes after the shooting before calling the Columbia County Sheriff's Office to report the shooting. Deputies say there was blood in the bathroom from the victim trying to stop the bleeding and there was a hold in one of the walls, possibly from a bullet.
